The word “worship” means different things to different people.
Most of the time, we use the word as a noun. Even when we say,
“We’re going to worship,” we most often refer to an event that takes
place in a worship center. For many people worship is just another
event on an already crowded calendar.
The dictionary defines the noun worship as “the reverent love and
devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object and the ceremonies,
prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed.”
Worship as a verb is “to participate in religious rites of worship.”
“Worship” is a verb and a noun. It is a life attitude, not an event
we attend on Sundays. Real worship—in the biblical sense—affects
every area of life.
See YOU Sunday!
